There are various Twitter and Facebook posts advertising how to get 24 days holiday for 14 days annual leave in 2018 (as long as they don't work weekends or Bank Holidays) - sounds good right? But how do organisations manage these requests?
The 24 days holiday is through a combination of the 7th May and 28th May bank holidays and weekends. It's good for employers to have this on their radar in case there are a few holiday requests for this period.
You'll need to consider if you can manage with people missing for such a length of time and what to do if you agree this for one employee but can't for another. Your holiday policy will provide you with a way of managing requests in a fair and effective manner.
